In 14K Gold, a blue enamelled badge inscribed NATIONAL SOCIETY WOMEN DESCENDANTS OF THE ANCIENT & HONOURABLE ARTILLERY COMPANY, the reverse has been engraved EVELYN MARGUERITE HUTCHINS YEAGER 178, marked J.E.C & Co. 14K, measures 30.5 mm (w) x 37 mm, weighs 36.62 grams in its entirety, worn on original ribbon with 8 clasps, all in 14K gold, engraved JOHN TUTTLE; SIMON TUTTLE; ABRAHAM MORRILL; LIEUT. THOMAS ADAMS’ CAPT. RALPH SPRAGUE; CAPT. RICHARD BRACKETT, with one in red enamels dated 1637-1774, and the blue enamelled brooch denoting CORRESPONDING SECRETARY NATIONAL 1941 1944, engraved EVELYN HUTCHINS YEAGER, marked J.E.C & Co 14K, with horizontal pin, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The object of this Society shall be to aid in perpetuating and honoring the memory of the Military Company of Massachusetts, afterward known as the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, who fought for the protection of the American Colonies and who died in establishing their independence. The Honourable Artillery Company was incorporated in London, England, in 1537. Kings of England were included among its members from the time of its organization. Members who came to the New World formed a Company in Boston, Massachusetts, a century later in 1637.
