1. Bronze gilded with purple, white, red and green enamels, reverse engraved with “For Military Merit, Alexander Zargnis”, measuring at 34.52mm (w) x 47.72mm (h) and weighing at 35.6 grams, in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Private Alexander Zarganis was born on May 20, 1923 in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania and died in Pittsburgh on July 5, 1959. His family is of Greek descent and he is now buried at Vandergrift Cemetery in Pennsylvania, USA. As indicated on his gravestone, Zarganis was ranked Private First Class, Service Command Unit and was designated with BSM and PH (Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart).
2. United States, Purple Heart Medal, unmarked; Bronze gilded with purple, white, red and green enamels, reverse bearing “For Military Merit”, measuring at 33.29mm (w) x 47.32mm (l) and weighing at 36.0 grams,in extremely fine condition.
3. United States, Good Conduct Medal, WWII. Bronze medal bearing eagle and “Efficiency, Honor, Fidelity” on obverse and “for good conduct” on obverse, measuring at 31.62mm (w) x 34.16mm (h to top of ring suspension) and weighing at 23.7 grams.
4. United States, Honorable Discharge Papers Alexander Zarganis; Laminated Honorable discharge papers issued by United States Army to Alexander Zarganis. Measuring at 63.92mm (w) x 84.83mm (h) and weighing at 7.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
5. United States, Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot Document. Document detailing a decoration award given, signed by Ronald Walsh (Brigadier General) measuring at 110.13mm (w) x 72.09mm (h) and weighing 0.1 grams.
6. United States, Four Ribbon Bars and Two Boutonnieres; Four ribbon bars, two denoting Purple Hearts , one European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Military Ribbon and one Army Good Conduct Military Ribbon, two Boutonnieres denoting Purple Heart Designation.
