In 14K Gold with light blue and white enamels, engraved "Ettie Amelia Jordan 2477", maker marked "J.E.C. & CO." (J.E. Caldwell & Company, Philadelphia) and marked "14K" on the reverse, measuring 26.8 mm (w) x 41.7 mm (h), intact enamels, original ribbon suspended from a 14K Gold hanger with pinback, the hanger engraved "MISSOURI", extremely fine.
Footnote: The National Society Daughters of the American Colonists strives to educate others about colonial history in the United States. Membership is open to any woman who is a citizen of the United States of America, is of good moral character, and has attained her eighteenth year, shall be eligible to membership, provided that she shall be acceptable to the Society and shall be the lineal descendant of an ancestor who rendered civil or military service in any of the colonies prior to July 4, 1776. Legal adoptions shall not qualify for lineal descent. Ettie Amelia Jordan was born in 1871 and was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Colonists. She died in 1957, at the age of 85 or 86 and was buried on December 20, 1957 at Bellefontaine Cemetery in Saint Louis, St. Louis City, Missouri, Plot: Block 165 lot 2233.
