Made of pressed steel construction with a rough textured anti-reflective exterior finish in olive drab, the shallow dome fitted with a central top stud and retaining its original form, the interior complete with a leather and oilcloth padded liner system secured by a four-point black webbing suspension, adjustable web chin strap present with metal buckle, the inner liner stamped “7 1/2 VMC I 1943” indicating size, manufacturer code, pattern mark, and year of production, the shell exterior exhibiting service wear with scattered scuffing, abrasions, and areas of surface rubbing consistent with field use, the interior liner showing age-related wear and stiffening but remaining intact and functional, in very fine condition.
