1914-15 Star (2076 PTE. C. BALDRY, SUFF. R.); British War Medal (2076 PTE. C. BALDRY. SUFF. R.); and Victory Medal (2076 PTE. C. BALDRY. SUFF. R.). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, light contact, replacement ribbons, better than very fine. Accompanied by the Shipping Carton for the Two Medals (stamped in red ink "B. WAR and VICTORY" and addressed in black ink "2076 / PTE. C. BALDRY, Suff. R" on the lid, measuring 90 mm (w) x 60 mm (h), lid and base with collapsed corners); a Suffolk Regiment Cap Badge (two-piece construction, bronze ribbon banner, mounted to a white metal insignia base, measuring 45 mm (w) x 42.7 mm (h), intact slider); two Postcards: one of Private Baldry in Uniform (photo in black and white and heavily faded to a sepia-toned look, gloss finish, inscribed in pencil "Grandad Charlie / Great War 1914-1918 / Wounded and Gassed / Served 1915 onwards / Volunteered to fight and was the first to enlist on the outbreak of war" on the reverse, measuring 87 mm (w) x 139 mm (h); the other of a Woman in a Studio Setting (photo in black and white faded to a sepia-toned look, gloss finish, inscribed in black ink "With all good wishes for the coming year Lillie" on the reverse, measuring 82 mm (w) x 135 mm (h)); a Registered Letter (dated stamped February 19, 1918 at the Field Post Office, receiving stamped March 20, 1918 in London, addressed to "Mrs Baldwin" in "Suffolk, England", measuring 148 mm (w) x 92 mm (h)); and a Brass Button Cleaning Plate (in brass, u-shaped with greening and surface wear, measuring 172 mm in length x 42 mm (h) in width).
Footnote: Private Charles Baldry served as a Private (2076) with the 5th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment during the First World War, his previous war service number stated as "240398" with the same regiment. He entered the European theatre on August 10, 1915 and is documented as having been wounded and gassed. For his First World War service, he was awarded the 1914-15 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
