War Medal 1939-1945 (in silver, measuring 17.8 mm in diameter); General Service Medal 1918-1962, 1 Clasp - MALAYA, QEII (in silver, measuring 18 mm in diameter); General Service Medal 1962-2007, 1 Clasp - BORNEO (in silver, measuring 18.5 mm in diameter); and Army Long Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal with Regular Army Bar, QEII (in silver, measuring 18.5 mm (w) x 27.3 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension). Mounted to a suspension with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, very light contact, original ribbons, near extremely fine. Accompanied by four pages with copies of his Service Records.
Footnote: Kalambahadur Sahi was born on November 25, 1925 in Balibisavna. He served with The Brigade of Gurkhas, 2nd Gurkha Regiment during the Second World War beginning in 1943 and would later see service in Malaya, Borneo and Hong Kong. 471409 Warrant Officer 2nd Class Kalambahadur Sahi was promoted to Lieutenant (QGO = Queen's Gurkha Officer), effective February 1, 1962, the announcement appearing in the Second Supplement to the London Gazette 42706 of Friday, June 15, 1962, on Tuesday, June 19, 1962, page 4929. Lieutenant (QGO), Regular Army, 2nd Gurkha Regiment retired from service on September 15, 1967, his records stating that he retired "after 24 years of loyal and first rate service. He has a strong cheerful personality and is never deterred by difficulties. He has always set himself high standards which he has maintained wherever he has served. I recommend Kalambahadur for any employment that needs a cheerful but experienced organiser and a very good QGO (Queen's Gurkha Officer)", his conduct noted as "Exemplary". The announcement of his retirement appeared in the Supplement to the London Gazette 44584 of Friday, May 10, 1968, on Tuesday, May 14, 1968, page 5446.
