(Oldenburger Haus- und Verdienstorden, Ritterkreuz II. Klasse mit Krone). Instituted 27 November 1838 by Grand Duke Paul Friedrich August. (1838-1918 issue). Constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with white enameled arms, the obverse bearing a central blue enameled medallion overlaid by a silvered monogram of Peter Friedrich Lugwig, situated within a red enameled ring bearing a silvered inscription of “EIN GOTT, EIN RECHT, EINE WAHRHEIT” (“ONE GOD, ONE RIGHTEOUSNESS, ONE TRUTH”), situated within dual silver rings, the reverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a hand-painted Oldenburg coat of arms, the arms bearing dates "21. MAI 1829, 21. NOV. 1838, 6. JULI 1785, 17. JUNI 1755" clockwise from the three o’clock arm, the twelve o’clock arm topped by an integral loop connecting to a crown suspension retaining a period original ribbon, unmarked, the cross measuring 38.14 mm (w) x 41.56 mm (h), the crown measuring 20.32 mm (w) x 18.33 mm (h), weighing 17.8 grams, demonstrating flecking throughout the enamels and a large chip repair to the obverse six o’clock arm, in better than very fine condition.
