Instituted November 27 1937. A scarce set, in silver, a green enamelled six armed decoration with bright green enamel, the obverse medallion presents a kukri with six genuine diamonds in the center, on a blue enamelled field, surrounded by a Nepalese inscription which translates to “Mother, Father and Country are Superior to Heaven”, the reverse is plain with hallmarks denoting British silver manufacture, London city mark, date mark denoting 1947, AP makers mark, measures 57mm (w) x 62.3mm (h), weighs 60.5 grams, missing green enamel around the inscription, dark patina, minor contact marks, in very fine condition. Accompanied by the I Class Star, in silver, a four point star with clusters of smooth rays, presenting five shorter silver gilt rays in each quadrant, the center medallion features a kukri with seven genuine diamonds in the center, on a blue enamelled field surrounded by a green ring inscribed with by a Nepalese inscription which translates to “Mother, Father and Country are Superior to Heaven”, the reverse features a single vertical pin, measures 86.8mm (w) x 86.8mm (h), weighs 92.9 grams, enamels intact, light wear, in better than extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by a section of sash with bow measures 35mm in length, slightly discoloured, in near very fine condition.
Contained in original case of issue, featuring a red leatherette exterior, with silk interior lid and velvet beige recessed medalbed, with storage component for sash below, measures 160mm (w) x 270mm (l) x 48mm (d), catch does not function, scuffs to exterior, in near very fine condition.
Footnote: This Order was conferred upon members of the Royal Family or Nepalese civilians in recognition of outstanding service to the nation. It is also awarded to foreigners for special service to the nation. This Order is also known as the Order of the Three Divine Powers.
