Italy, Kingdom. An Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus, Knight with Miniature, in Gold

(Ordine dei Santi Maurizio e Lazzaro, Cavaliere). Instituted in 1434. A Knight in 18K Gold featuring a white enamelled Shamrock cross with green enamelled Maltese arms in each quadrant, the reverse mirrors the obverse, measures 39.1 mm (w) x 41.0 mm (h), weighs 6.83 grams, worn on original green ribbon, residue to reverse arms, remains in extremely fine condition.

A miniature of the order, in Gold, presents matching symbolism, measures 15.7 mm (w) x 16.7 mm (h), weighs 1.07 grams, worn on original ribbon, extremely fine.

Both items contained in an original case of issue, dark green leatherette with the lid impressed with the crowned VE monogram, the interior with a white silk lid, the base in green velvet with small stays to hold each ribbon, the case measures 112 mm (w) x 135 mm (w) x 23 mm (d), light wear to exterior, slightly warped and does not sit flat, catch functional, remains in very fine condition.
