Germany, Wehrmacht. A Tank Destruction Badge, Silver Grade, by Moritz Hausch

(Panzervernichtungsabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of a silver aluminum wire tresse, the obverse trimmed along both the top and bottom edges with machine-embroidered black borders, pinned with a central patinated magnetic steel Panzer IV, affixed with all three attachment prongs to a magnetic steel backplate, the reverse retaining a black canvas liner, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by Moritz Hausch, Pforzheim, the device measuring 42.26 mm (w) x 17.77 mm (h), weighing 8.5 grams, demonstrating some material fatigue and soiling throughout, the latter consistent with age-appropriate oxidation of the metal features, in better than very fine condition
