(Soldbücher). A pair of Soldbücher, including:
1. A Waffen-SS issue Soldbuch, constructed of a field-grey card stock binding with 52 paginated interior pages lightly filled with stamped and handwritten entries, retaining a certified black-and-white photograph of the bearer, measuring 105 mm (w) x 148 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Josef Paul Chidura was born on 28 January 1902 in the Kattowitz region (now Katowice, Poland). He was drafted into military service on 25 February 1941 and volunteered for Waffen-SS service on 1 June 1944. His recorded service for that year shows that he served with transportation security units, and attained the rank of SS-Sturmmann by 1 April 1945.
2. A Kriegsmarine issue Soldbuch, constructed of a field-grey card stock binding with 52 paginated interior pages lightly filled with stamped and handwritten entries, retaining a certified black-and-white photograph of the bearer, measuring 105 mm (w) x 150 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Martin “Erich” George was born on 7 October 1905 in a suburb of Dresden. He entered active military service in the summer of 1940 and began service with the Kriegsmarine. Achieving the rank of Matrosen-Gefreiter on 1 September 1941, and Matrosen-Obergefreiter on 1 September 1942, George, whose recorded military service ceases in 1941, served in France on the Atlantic Coast, at least part of which was in Gravelines (24 kilometers southwest of Dunkirk).
