(Reichs-Musiktage 1939 Einladung). An invitation to the 1939 Reich Days of Music festival in Dortmund, consisting of an envelope, addressed to “HERRN. PROF. DR. ROBERT HAAS, LOIDOLDGASSE 1, WIEN VIII”, measuring 230 mm (w) x 164 mm (h), accompanied by a personalized invitation to Dr. Haas, printed on white paper stock inside of a folio of identical construction, measuring 212 mm (w) x 148 mm (h), also accompanied by a program for the event, the interior with two pages detailing performances at the festival, measuring 160 mm (w) x 225 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Dr. Robert Maria Haas, born 15 August 1886 in Prague, was an Austrian musicologist whose work focused primarily on the symphonies of Anton Bruckner. Haas was a member of the NSDAP and engaged in anti-Semitic discourses in his later career, in a likely attempt to gain favour with the government. As a result of his activities during the Third Reich, he was largely marginalized after the war and died in Vienna on 4 October 1960.
