In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Polizei Schirmmütze für Offiziere der Gendarmerie). A well-preserved Gendarmerie visor cap for Officer ranks, constructed of police-green wool. The cap features reinforced side walls which are fully lined on the exterior with a brown wool cap band. Both the top and bottom edges of the band are trimmed with orange piping, while an additional length of identical piping trims the outer edge of the crown. The former is flanked on each side by dual ventilation holes which are reinforced with magnetic metal mesh screens. Pinned onto the peak is an aluminum tri-colour cockade measuring 23 mm in diameter, while an aluminum Ordnungspolizei insignia is pinned onto the centre of the cap band directly below the cockade, and measures 55 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). The lower edge of the cap band is flanked by pebbled aluminum buttons which accommodate a chinstrap constructed of multiple rows of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire, adjusted at each end with a sliding knot of identical construction. A protruding vulcanfibe visor completes the exterior features, and is finished in black on the obverse and in green on the reverse. A brown oilcloth liner encompasses the interior, while a wide brown leather sweatband surrounds the side walls. Unmarked, the cap measures approximately 25 cm (w) x 28.5 cm (l) x 16 cm (h). Issues consistent with age and wear are evident, and include minor fatigue to the wool base, as well as deterioration of the interior liner and sweatband (the former resulting in the loss of the crown’s moisture guard).
