Description

(Burg Eltz Wandteller). Constructed of glazed white porcelain, the obverse depicting a finely-detailed depiction of Eltz Castle executed in hand painting over a transfer outline, the revere bearing a hand-painted caption of “BURG ELTZ”, above a date of “DEC. 95”, a maker’s mark of “VILLEROY & BOCH, METTLACH”, with other stamped codes also visible, with two eyelets perforated into the base ring for the accommodation of a hanger, measuring 31 cm in diameter, demonstrating minor a chips to the edges with fine and age-appropriate crazing, a striking example issued as part of a series commemorating castles situated along the Rhine, in near extremely fine condition.
