Germany, Imperial. A Pair of Miniature Medal Chains for First World War and Freikorps Service

(Miniaturketten). A pair of miniature medal chains, including:

1. One featuring five awards, constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with enamels, including a 1914 Iron Cross II Class, a Württemberg Military Merit Medal, a Prussian Long Service Award II Class for 12 Years, a Silesian Eagle II Class, and a Silver Grade Wound Badge, all suspended from an 85 mm-long bronze chain which culminates at each end in a pin for uniform attachment, the reverse of the Silesian Eagle bearing a maker’s mark of “MAX REICH, BERLIN”, demonstrating minor loss of finish, in extremely fine condition.

2. One featuring seven awards, including an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 for Combatants, a 1914 Iron Cross II Class, a Merit Medal, a Friedrich August Medal, a Bulgarian War Commemorative Medal, an Austro-Hungarian Bravery Medal, and a Hungarian War Commemorative Medal, all suspended from a 135 mm-long bronze chain which culminates at each end in a pin for uniform attachment, unmarked, one medal is missing and minor loss of finish is visible to the others, in better than very fine condition.
