(Abzeichen). A mixed lot awards and badges, including:
1. A 1914 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension from a Third Reich-period tri-fold ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, unmarked, measuring 42.82 mm (w) x 48.07 mm (h), weighing 15.7 grams, demonstrating surface oxidation to the core, in very fine condition.
2. A Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, with a central Stahlhelm on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a clip hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 38.27 mm (w) x 43.37 mm (h), weighing 10.6 grams, demonstrating minor loss of finish to the reverse in near extremely fine condition.
3. A sweetheart badge, constructed of gilded magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a colourized portrait of a Heer soldier wearing a Krätzchen, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, stamped with a partially-legible mark, measuring 25 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
4. A patriotic badge, constructed of bronze with enamels, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 26 mm (w) x 12 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
