In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Stahlhelm M42). A Heer M42 Stahlhelm (steel helmet), constructed of a single sheet of magnetic molybdenum steel which retains much of its original apple-green paint. Three rivets are distributed around the outer circumference of the shell for the accommodation of the interior fixtures, while the crown is flanked on each side by integral ventilation holes. The rim of the skirt remains uncrimped in classic M42 style. A magnetic metal ring surrounds the interior of the crown, fixed in place with the shell rivets, which accommodates a period original tan-coloured leather liner which culminates in eight fingers, each perforated with five ventilation holes and additional eyelets for the accommodation of a drawstring. Two magnetic metal loops descend from the sides of the ring and retain an original two-piece blackened leather chinstrap which closes with a magnetic metal buckle. Stamped onto the back of the skirt is a code of “HKP66”, indicating manufacture by Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke, with a shell size of 66. A heat code of “3910” is stamped directly below the maker code, while a handwritten owner’s name of “FRITZ BECKER” is visible directly above the shell marks. The helmet measures approximately 24.5 cm (w) x 29 cm (l) x 15.5 cm (h). Issues consistent with age and field use are evident, and include moderate loss of paint throughout the shell, some loosening of the shell rivets, fatigue of the leather elements, and the loss of the liner’s drawstring with some corresponding deterioration of the fingers. This late-war helmet remains in a very fine condition.
