(Heer Verleihungsurkunden). An extensive lot of five award documents named to Unteroffizier Richard Lehrmann, 14. Panzer-Jäger, Grenadier-Regiment 503, including one for a 1939 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, awarded at divisional headquarters on 7 February 1944, featuring a handwritten signature of Generalmajor Gerhard Henke, measuring 139 mm (w) x 200 mm (h), with two folding creases evident, in overall better than very fine condition; one for a 1939 Iron Cross I Class, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, awarded at divisional headquarters on 11 July 1944, featuring a handwritten signature of an Oberst and deputy divisional commander, measuring 140 mm (w) x 200 mm (h), with a central folding crease, in overall near extremely fine condition; one for a Silver Grade Wound Badge, constructed of off-white paper with black ink, awarded at regimental headquarters on 27 August 1944 for three wounds suffered between 27 June and 17 August 1944, featuring a handwritten signature of Oberstleutnant Herbert von Ludowig (Heer Honour Roll Clasp 1945), measuring 140 mm (w) x 200 mm (h), with folding creases and soiling evident, in overall very fine condition; one for an Infantry Assault Badge in Silver, awarded at regimental headquarters on 1 September 1944, featuring a handwritten signature of Oberstleutnant Herbert von Ludowig, measuring 148 mm (w) x 209 mm (h), with a central folding crease and minor soiling evident, in overall better than very fine condition, and; one for a Close Combat Clasp, Bronze Grade, awarded at regimental headquarters on 1 September 1944 for 15 days of close combat, featuring a handwritten signature of Oberstleutnant Herbert von Ludowig, measuring 148 mm (w) x 210 mm (h), with a central folding crease and soiling evident, in overall very fine condition.
Footnote: During Lehrmann’s recorded service time with Grenadier-Regiment 503 as reflected in the documentation offered, his unit was embedded with Army Group North and was engaged in combat during Operation Bagration, among other offensives on the Eastern Front. Grenadier-Regiment 503 sustained such heavy losses throughout 1944 that it was dissolved in December and the remnants absorbed into Grenadier-Regiment 501.
