Germany, Heer. A Private Wartime Photos Album with Documents to Andreas Lamminger, Gebirgs-Jäger-Regiment 98

(Heer Gebirgsjäger Fotoalbum und Verleihungsurkunden). Constructed of a card stock binding with a faux textured dark brown leather liner, the spine perforated with four eyelets reinforced with magnetic metal grommets through which is looped a drawstring which maintains the album’s structural integrity, the cover bearing a silvered Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika and unit dedication of “GEB. JÄGER-REGIMENT 98”, the interior content opening with a typewritten history of Gebirgs-Jäger-Regiment 98 and a patriotic history of German forces, supplemented with black-and-white photographs and illustrations, followed by promotion and award documents named to Andreas Lamminger, with the latter consisting of a document for the Wehrmacht 4-Year Long Service Award (named to Lamminger as an Unterfeldwebel of 7. Kompanie, Gebirgs-Jäger-Regiment 100) and the Anschluss Medal (dated 8 November 1938 and named to Lamminger as an Untefeldwebel of 7. Kompanie, Gebirgs-Jäger-Regiment 98), concluding with 11 black card stock pages for the addition of photographs, each separated by an intact wax paper divider to protect the images, measuring 22.5 cm (w) x 30 cm (h), demonstrating minor fatigue to the cover, an interesting and owner-attributed example which remained largely unused for unknown reasons, in extremely fine condition.
