Germany, Heer. A Lot of Documents for Military, Sports, and Civil Service, to Leutnant Helmut Feller, Soviet POW

(Urkunden). An extensive lot of documents to Leutuant Helmut Feller, a Heer Officer who survived the war to be taken captive by Soviet forces. It includes military award documents, sports award documents, and civil paperwork, featuring:

1. An award document for a Black Grade Wound Badge, named to Feller as a Leutnant of 13. Kompanie, Jäger-Regiment 204 (then engaged in combat on the Eastern Front as part of 97. Jäger-Division), dated 28 August 1934 and issued from Treysa (Hesse) for a single wound suffered on 15 July, certified by the handwritten signature of the Chefarzt of Reserve-Lazarett Treysa, measuring 14 cm (w) x 20 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.

2. A lot of 17 assorted documents, encompassing the Weimar, Third Reich, and Federal Republic periods, consisting of an Ahnentafel (ancestry document, confirming Feller’s Aryan descent), school records, and sports award documents, in overall extremely fine condition.

3. A lot of six Soviet prisoner of war (POW) postcards, all constructed of card stock and mediated by the Red Cross, addressed to Rita Feller, a resident of Lauingen (Bavaria), indicating that Feller was being held in a camp near Moscow, each with brief handwritten inscriptions indicating the he is in good health and extending best wishes to loved ones at home, notably accompanied by a telegram indicating that Feller was released from Soviet captivity on 21 June 1947, a superb group documenting life in notoriously harsh Soviet POW camps, in near extremely fine condition.

4. A Heer Gebirgsjäger sleeve insignia for Enlisted ranks, constructed of field-grey wool with multi-coloured machine embroidery, unmarked, measuring 55 mm (w) x 65 mm (h), a memento of Feller’s service in unissued and near mint condition.
