The fifth time, presumably, is the date of the award. The document is dated to Düren on August 18, 1944 and signed in blue ink by a Captain, the name is indecipherable.

A Wound Badge in Silver certificate (139x199mm, extremely fine) to Gefreiter (Lance Corporal) Backhausen of the 6th Company of Infantry Regiment 473 for being wounded three times, on July 28, 1941, March 11, 1942, and August 17, 1942. The document is dated to September 6, 1942 and signed in pencil by a Captain and Battalion Leader, the name is indecipherable.

An Iron Cross 1st Class certificate (140x200mm, extremely fine) to Gefreiter Backhausen (6th Company of Infantry Regiment 473). The document is dated to October 25, 1942 and signed in pencil by Major General and Commander of the 6th Infantry Division, Horst Großmann (1891–1972), a recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves.

A personal data sheet (249x172mm, very fine condition). It is written in English and was probably filled out upon Backhausen’s capture by Allied forces. It is dated to May 30, 1945 and signed in black ink by Backhausen and by Oberleutnant (Senior Lieutenant) of the Reich Grenadier Division “Hoch- und Deutschmeister”, Werner Reimann.

A certificate of discharge from the Wehrmacht (203x328mm, very fine). It is dated to August 6, 1945 and signed in blue ink by Backhausen, a doctor Sverdlik, and a Second Lieutenant Dukelow.
