(Wehrmacht Auszeichnungen - Ausführung 1957). A pair of Wehrmacht service awards for combatants produced according to the regulations of 1957, including:
1. A 1939 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and neusilber, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed and silvered frame, the obverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, unmarked, measuring 44.48 mm (w) x 47.72 mm (h), weighing 18.0 grams, in near mint condition.
2. A German Cross in Gold, constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of a double-overlaid ribbed starburst, bearing a central silvered disc overlaid by a blackened and silvered 1939 Iron Cross executed according to the regulations of 1957, situated within a circular laurel leaf wreath wrapped in ribbon, joined together at the bottom by plaque bearing an institution date of “1941”, trimmed along both the inner and outer edges with red enameled rings, the reverse with four visible rivets securing the obverse featuring in position, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of an early 1957 version produced by Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 64.04 mm (w) x 64.11 mm (h), weighing 80.2 grams, in extremely fine condition.
