Silver laurel wreath wrapped around a gold medallion topped by a trophy of arms suspension, obverse center medallion bearing the left profile of Marianne, surrounded by a blue enameled ring with the inscription RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE 1870, reverse center medallion bearing the inscription VALEUR ET DISCIPLINE, on original ribbon, evidence of gilt wear, enamels intact, 52 mm (h) x 27.4 mm (w), very fine condition.
