A multi piece constructed, gilded silver medallion bearing the coat of arms of the French City of Metz on the obverse bearing the inscription “Officier De Police, Ville De Metz” (translation: Police Officer, City of Metz) encircling the coat of arms, and the reverse bearing imagery of the All Seeing Eye encircled by the inscription “Force A La Loi” (translation: Force In Law), with a crown suspension, and integral loop connected to a chain comprised of 17 smaller bronze encircled silver medallions and bronze loops. The medallions bear images alternating between the Fleur de Lis, the All Seeing Eye and the Coat of Arms of Metz on them. The Medallion measures at 41.8mm (w) x 70.0mm (h-inclusive of crown suspension), with minor scuffing, and the chain measures at 62cm in length, and each medallion measures at 18mm in diameter, hallmarked on ring with facies denoting French silver guarantee (1798-1809), very fine.
