1)France, Kingdom. An Order of St. Louis, Knight, c 1800.

Instituted in 1693. In 18k Gold and enamel, white-enameled Maltese cross, each arm finished with two ball finials, fleur de lys in each quadrant, the obverse centerpiece bearing the image of St. Louis, surrounded by the inscription LUD. M. INST. 1693, the reverse centerpiece bearing a sword and cross, surrounded by the inscription BELLICAE VIRTUTIS PRAEMIUM, 42 mm (h) x 37 mm (w), enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.

2) France, Kingdom. An Order of St. Louis Miniature.

Instituted in 1693. In 18k Gold and enamel, white-enameled Maltese cross, each arm finished with two ball finials, fleur de lys in each quadrant, the obverse centerpiece bearing the image of St. Louis, surrounded by the inscription LUD. M. INST. 1693, the reverse centerpiece bearing a sword and cross, surrounded by the inscription BELLICAE VIRTUTIS PRAEMIUM, 20 mm (h) x 17 mm (w), enamel wear, fair condition.
