Description

Two-piece construction, in browning copper, maker marked "GAUNT LONDON" on the reverse, illustrating two crossed Vickers machine guns, the guns surmounted by the royal crown, with a circle below representing a prospector’s pan and inscribed "Y.T." (Yukon Territory), the pan housing "gold nuggets" in the lower portion of the pan, a ribbon banner inscribed "CANADA" below, measuring 37.2 mm (w) x 38.2 mm (h), all three lugs intact, spotting, very light contact and surface wear, better than very fine.

Footnote: Boyle's Yukon Motor Machine Gun Battery was raised on November 6, 1916 and arrived in France on March 25, 1918. It was absorbed into the new 2nd Canadian Motor Machine Gun Brigade as C Battery.
