(Souveräner Ritter und Hospitalorden vom heiligen Johannes von Jerusalem von Rhodos und von Malta, Profestiertes Großkreuz). In silver gilt, a lovely commanders cross featuring a white Maltese cross with double headed eagles in each quadrant, surmounted by a large ornate crown and trophy of arms suspension, reverse of the cross is plain, crown reverse mirrors the obverse, and the trophy reverse bears two hooks from 12 and 6 o’clock for ribbon attachments, measures 53.6mm (w) x 127.7mm (h), weighs 63.2 grams, enamels intact, lovely patina, in extremely fine condition.

Contained in its original case of issue, red leatherette exterior, with a gilt Maltese cross on the exterior lid, the interior lid is marked ROTHE, with a black velvet recessed medal bed, measures 110mm (w) x 175mm (h) x 30mm (d), minimal wear, in extremely fine condition.
