Germany, Luftwaffe. A Signed Lithograph Portrait Of General Hermann-Bernhard Ramcke

A signed card bearing a widely-reproduced, full-colour portrait of General der Fallschirmtruppe Hermann-Bernhard Ramcke, depicted in uniform and with the Knight’s Cross visible, the image situated above a handwritten signature in clear black ink, the reverse retaining card stock from previous display, measuring 108 mm (w) x 160 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

Footnote: A career military Officer whose career spanned the First World War, the Russian Civil War (as part of a Freikorps-dervied anti-communist unit fighting against the Bolsheviks), and the Second World War, Hermann-Bernhard distinguished himself during the latter as a commander of Fallschirmjäger, seeing action during the Battle of Crete, the North African theatre, and the Battle for Brest following the D-Day landings at Normany. For his efforts, Ramcke was one of just 27 recipients of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross (21 August 1941) with Oak Leaves (13 November 1942), Swords (19 September 1944), and Diamonds (also 19 September 1944).
