(Ordem Militar de Cristo). Emperor Pedro I on December 7, 1822. Type I (1780-1910 Issue). A finely crafted star, of high quality French manufacture, consisting of a delicate hand faceted multi-rayed star in silver, presenting a period enameled white and red insignia of the Order on Gold, surrounded by a delicate wavy beaded ring also in Gold, adorned with an enameled red and green Heart of Christ with surmounted enameled black cross on Gold, reverse with principle pin assembly, measuring 63.69 mm (w) x 66.69 mm (h - inclusive the Heart of Christ), marked with boars head on catch denoting French silver fineness post 1838, intact enamels, toned silver, a superb and early example, better than extremely fine.
