Germany, Imperial. A Medal Bar To A First World War Combatant

(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar to a First World War combatant featuring five decorations, including:

1. A Bavarian Golden Wedding Jubilee Medal, constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 37.90 mm in diameter, demonstrating minor loss of finish, in better than very fine condition.

2. A German Legion of Honour Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon pinned with a wreathed sword device, unmarked, measuring 32.35 mm (w) x 36.28 mm (h), demonstrating minor loss of finish, in better than very fine condition.

3. An Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 for Combatants, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with crossed swords piercing the centre, the obverse bearing central wreathed dates “1914-1918”, the reverse maker marked with the logo of Carl Poellath, Schrobenhausen, measuring 37.58 mm (w) x 42.67 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

4. A Bavarian Long Service Medal, III Class for 9 Years, constructed of neusilber, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 33.12 mm in diameter, demonstrating minor loss of finish and surface oxidation, in very fine condition.

5. A Kaiser Wilhelm I Centenary Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 40.05 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.

All suspended from a 120 mm-long zink alloy bar with a horizontal pinback and white rayon reverse liner, unmarked, demonstrating soiling to both the ribbons and reverse liner, in very fine condition.
