Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Rare Inspector Admiral’s Flag

(Kriegsmarine Kommandoflagge der Admiralinspekteur). A rare Kriegsmarine Admiralinspekteur (Inspector Admiral) command flag, constructed of a weather-hardened cotton-blended base, featuring a dyed and double-sided design consisting of a black Cross Pattée superimposed over a white background, bearing by a golden-yellow German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with feathering and details highlighted in black, in turn overlaying a crossed pair of Admirals’ batons, set within a blue border along all four edges, the hoist edge reinforced with a hollow white cotton-blended border through which is looped an original drawstring, the reverse of the hoist edge bears a dyed black inscription of “ADM. INSPEKTEUR” and size dimensions of “1,0 X 1,0” (measuring 96 cm x 104 cm with hoist edge reinforcement included), demonstrating sporadic small holes consistent with moth exposure, a scarce flag in near extremely fine condition.
