Description

Issued by The American Historical Foundation, Richmond, Virginia, a limited edition Gold plated dagger with blade engraved “AGAINST GREAT ODDS AT THE END OF THE LONGEST AND THINNEST SUPPLY LINE IN THE GLOBAL WAR” with maker mark H.G. LONG & Co, Sheffield England on the ricasso, and hand engraved 1754 near the guard, the reverse side of the blade is engraved IN HONOR OF WORLD WAR II VICTORY IN CHINA BURMA INDIA. The handle is of creme coloured bakelite. Measures 300 mm (w) x 51 mm (h), no scratches or smudges, in extremely fine condition.

The bayonet is contained in its original case of issue in black textured exterior with interior black velvet base and silk lid marked ISSUED IN HONOR OF THE S.A.S. SPECIAL AIR SERVICE COMMANDOS LIMITED EDITION, measures 375 mm (w) x 127 mm (h) x 40 mm (d), minor wear, functional hinge and clasp, very fine.

Accompanied by a certificate of Authenticity from the American Historical Foundation.
