A signed and dedicated portrait of noted United States Navy Admiral George Dewey, featuring an officially reproduced image captured by photographer George Prince in 1899, depicting Dewey in an elaborate uniform with his trademark handlebar mustache, wielding a ceremonial sword and wearing three decorations, including the Dewey Medal (a.k.a Battle of Manila Bay Medal), the top half bearing Dewey’s handwritten dedication and signature, dated 28 April 1900, situated within a modern lacquered gold frame with an intact glass face and reverse suspension wire, measuring 23 cm (w) x 26.5 cm (h), a superb display piece signed by a legendary participant and commander of the Civil War and Spanish-American War in extremely fine condition.
