United Kingdom. A Second War Royal Engineers Officer’s Visor Cap

 A fine quality cap of dark blue wool with red piping, the traditional flat top design bearing a thick leather brim and leather chin strap. The structured cap presents the cap badge of the Royal Engineers in bronze, along with a small Royal Engineers button on each side of the thin leather chinstrap.  Two grommetted ventilation holes are present on each side. The interior of the cap features a textured red silk top with a 50 mm thick imitation leather sweatband, and a green undervisor. The diamond shaped manufacturer’s label reads MOSS BROS & CO LTD 20-21 King St. COVENT, GARDEN. The cap measures 250 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), and the interior sticker indicates the size of 6 ¾. The cap presents light mothing on the top, wear to the brim and small areas of contact to the leather chin strap, remains in very fine condition.
