Description
(Orden de San Raimundo de Peñafort). Established by General Francisco Franco on January 23, 1944. An outstanding ball-tipped enameled white Maltese cross in silver, presenting typical crossed laces in each quadrant also in silver, encompassing with a silver vertical sword, the obverse superposing by a gilded figure of St. Penafort with multiple-colored enamels, reverse with button for attachment, measuring 24.66 mm (w) x 26.95 mm (h), near mint condition. Accompanied by a hard-shelled black case, the interior lid is in white-cream silk inscribed by the maker’s name VILLANUEVA Y LAISECA, MADRID, with white medal bed in cotton, measuring 87 mm (w) x 33 mm (h) x 90 mm (l), presenting minor wearing surface, functional push-button, very good condition.

It is awarded in recognition of meritorious services and contributions to the growth and development of the law and justice in Spain. It is conferred upon Spanish and foreign civil servants of the Spanish Ministry of Justice, as well as professors, writers, and researchers, who work directly on justice field.
