Instituted in 1888. Four-point star in white enamel with sixteen ruby red cabochons, obverse centre shows a silver flower superimposed on blue enamel, on original striped ribbon, 52 mm, near mint condition. Housed in original case, very fine condition.
Footnote: The Order of the Sacred Treasure was instituted on the 4th of January 1888 by Emperor Meiji. This Order was established in recognition of long, faithful civil or military service, or for meritorious civil or military service. It is conferrable upon men and women, who became eligible for this award in 1919. It may also be awarded posthumously.
