Austria, Imperial. An Order of Malta, I Class Donat Cross, in Case

(Souveräner Malteseorden). Instituted 1099. A silver gilt Maltese cross - three arms with white enamels, one consisting of a silver gilt frame, with Fleur de lis between each arms of the cross, suspended from arabesques a hollow swivel crown, a red and white enameled bow and a broad loop for suspension from a replacement black silk neck ribbon, measuring 45.4 mm (w) x 107.5 mm (h - in total), weighs 37.9 grams, in overall extremely fine condition.

Contained in the case of issue, a red leatherette exterior with interior lid marked Cravanzola, with recessed medal bed base, measures 107 mm (w) x 109 mm (h) x 30 mm (d), functional hinge and clasp, areas of scuffing and discoloration to exterior, remains very fine.
