Austria, Empire. A Lot of Two Medals & Decorations (Bravery/Long Service)

A lot of two Austro-Hungarian medals and decorations consisting of:

1. (Tapferkeitsmedaille). Instituted July 19th, 1789. Type III (1866-1914 Issue). A Bravery Medal I. Class, a round silver medal, with a horizontally oriented oval ring for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse depicting a rightward-facing effigy of Kaiser Franz Joseph of Austria, circumscribed “Franz Joseph I.V.G.G Kaiser v. Oesterreich”, marked “Leisek” near the bottom, the reverse inscribed “Der Tapferkeit” (For Bravery) within a laurel wreath with banners at the base, hallmarked “A” for “Vienna” on the edge, measuring 40.2 mm in diameter, weighing 17.83 grams, contact marks throughout, in overall very fine condition.

2. (Militärdienstabzeichen für 25 Jahre). Instituted September 19th, 1849. 1st Issue (1849-1867). I Class for Officers for 25 Years. Military Long Service Decoration for 25 Years, on a fixed loop and double swivel rings for suspension from a late period original tri-fold ribbon, a bronze Cross Pattée with dimpled edges, the obverse with a double-headed single-crowned silver eagle bearing the Austro-Hungarian crest on its chest, unmarked, measuring 33.9 mm (w) x 34.7 mm (l), weighing 12.97 grams, in very fine condition.
