Italy, Kingdom. An MVSN Officer’s Dagger with Hanger

Militaria Volontaria per la Sicuerezza Nazionale (Voluntary Militia for National Security/MVSN) Chained Officer’s dagger, measuring 35 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 20 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade which retains factory-original sharpening to both the tip and lower edge. Unmarked, the blade sits securely within a one-piece aluminum hilt. A hooked quillon and eagle’s head pommel facilitate a firm grip. The handle is inset with black bakelite inserts on both sides, the obverse featuring a central gilded fasces. Accompanying the dagger is its original scabbard, constructed of a black painted magnetic metal shaft with bronze fittings. Dual bronze integral rings set into the upper third of the shaft retain loops for the accommodation of a metal style hanger featuring a gilded bronze clip with a raised Italian national eagle, very fine overall.
