In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Instituted 1899. In silver, rim officially engraved 29492 Sapr. W. T. PHILLIPS R.E. with BELMONT clasp, reverse with stiff red felt, bright, minor wear, extremely fine.
Footnote: Sapper W.T. Phillips served with the Royal Engineers, 8th Railway Company. Records state he was “transferred to G Company. Discharged. QSA (1) sent 10 Mar 1903. QSA (1) Belm”.
The 8th Railway Company, Royal Engineers served a vital logistical role during the Second Boer War (1899–1902), maintaining and operating the extensive railway network upon which British military operations depended. The company was responsible for repairing tracks and bridges damaged by Boer commandos, constructing temporary railway works, operating armoured trains, and ensuring the uninterrupted movement of troops, artillery, supplies, and ammunition across South Africa. Frequently working under enemy fire and in exposed conditions, its sappers restored communications following sabotage and enabled British columns to maintain their operational mobility during both the conventional campaign and the later guerrilla war. The work of the Railway Companies of the Royal Engineers proved indispensable to Britain's eventual success, with the railways serving as the backbone of the military supply system throughout the conflict.
