(Abzeichen und Insignien). A mixed lot of badges and insignia, including:
1. A Heer EM/NCO’s visor cap eagle, constructed of aluminum, the reverse retaining two of three original attachment prongs, maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 68 mm (w) x 28 mm (h), in very fine condition.
2. An Ordnungspolizei cap insignia, constructed of aluminum, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a weather mobile swastika, the reverse retaining both original attachment prong, maker marked “OGL” for Otto Geiger, Lüdenscheid, measuring 56 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in near mint condition.
3. An early SA/SS cap/kepi eagle, constructed of silvered bronze, the reverse retaining both original attachment prongs, marked with a Reichszeugmeistere (RZM) logo and maker code “M1/15” for Ferdinand Hoffstätter, Bonn, measuring 38 mm (w) x 28 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
4. A political/government cap eagle, constructed of silvered zink, the reverse retaining all three original attachment prongs, marked with an RZM logo and maker code “M1/72” for Fritz Zimmermann, Stuttgart, measuring 65 mm (w) x 34 mm (h), demonstrating moderate loss of finish throughout, in very fine condition.
5. An Gebirgsjäger traditions badge, constructed of gilded and silvered magnetic metal, the reverse soldered with a needle as part of a conversation to a lapel badge, unmarked, measuring 34 mm (w) x 45 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.
6. A Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with two threaded screwposts retaining original nuts, unmarked, measuring 37.98 mm (w) x 43.19 mm (h), weighing 13.3 grams (inclusive of hardware), an unusual privately-purchased example in near extremely fine condition.
