Germany, SS. A SS-BW Marked Waffen-SS Drill Jacket

(SS Drillen Hemd). This is an extremely well-preserved Waffen-SS drill jacket, constructed of tan-coloured cotton in a herringbone pattern. The jacket features a downturned collar, with a hidden embroidered flap with reinforced buttonhole on the left, held in place by a tan-coloured bakelite button, meeting two identical buttons on the right side, allowing for a customizable fit. Each sleeve cuff has a 130 mm vertical slit with tan-coloured bakelite buttons on the interior and exterior allowing the cuff to be rolled up and fixed in place. The breast flaps are closed by four tan-coloured bakelite buttons on the right meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left, hidden by an additional layer of outer material. The interior of the collar and shoulder area has five tan-coloured bakelite buttons and a loop for hanging the jacket on a hook when not in use. The right collar also bears a magnetic metal clip meeting a matching eyelet on the left collar. The jacket has a single interior pocket, located at the top left breast, opening with a reinforced horizontal slit. Clearly stamped onto the pocket is the owner’s name and location of “G. Wolf, Pössmark”, with codes “8, 42, 43, 84, 42, 65, 61” amd the SS-Bekleidungswerke (SS Clothing Factory) “SS-BW” logo. Both armpits have 45 mm slits with three reinforced ventilation holes underneath, with additional reinforced ventilation holes arranged in vertical formation at the lower body of the jacket. The jacket measures approximately 461 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 688 mm and overall body length of 709 mm. The are minor, sporadic patches of soiling, but the jacket is in an otherwise extremely fine condition
