This fine quality cap is fabricated from a dark navy blue cotton, in the traditional design with raised peak, trimmed along the top edge in a single row pf fine gold-coloured bullion wire along the circumference. The front is adorned with a 50 mm (w) x 48 mm (h) Yugoslav People's Army General's cap badge, the star with hammer and sickle in bronze gilt with red enamels, the star resting upon a wreath and five pointed star base in silvered and gilt bronze. The General's braid in rolled gold-coloured bullion wire, designed in a series of continuously flowing waves, finished in a knot and looped around brass buttons on the sides, each of which bears the Socialist Federal Republic coat-of-arms, the braid resting upon the stiff visor in black vulcan fibre and trimmed along the edge in two rows of gold-coloured bullion wire. The underside of the visor is in a black synthetic material, while the 40 mm wide simulated leather sweatband is in grayish-black with a black velvet-like underside. The sidewalls and dome are lined in navy blue rayon, the dome incorporating a clear moisture-shield bearing a Belgrade manufacturer's mark and inscribed "Jedinstvo BEOGRAD", size marked "58" and marked "Z" within a circle. The cap measures 240 mm in width x 257 mm in length x 130 mm in height, is well-stitched and is free of flaws in the materials. Near mint.
