Yugoslavia, Socialist Federal Republic. A Medal For Military Merit

Instituted in 1952. In silvered brass, measuring 38.5 mm (w) x 39.7 mm (h), contact marks, original triangular ribbon with hook and eye, very fine. Accompanied by its 36.5 mm (w) x 9.2 mm (h) ribbon bar, in its cardboard case of issue, the lid bearing the Socialist Federal Republic coat-of-arms and inscribed "MEDALJA ZA VOJNIČKE ZASLUGE", white fabric lined inside lid and recessed medal bed, the lid with the front end panel missing and the rear panel taped in place, with extensive wear on the exterior, case fair.

Footnote: The Medal for Military Merit was instituted on January 1, 1952 and awarded to soldiers and NCOs for achievements in the execution of their duties in the Armed Forces.
