(Orden Jugoslavenske krune). Instituted in 1930, Discontinued in 1945. Multi-piece construction, in silver gilt with red, white, green, light blue and dark blue enamels, unmarked, measuring 42.7 mm (w) x 58.7 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath and laterally-pierced ball suspension, repair evident in the white enamels on a single ray at 12 o'clock on both sides, otherwise, the enamels are intact, original triangular ribbon with hook and eye, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, the lid marked in gold-coloured ink "JUGOSLOVENSKA KRUNA V." (Yugoslav Crown V Class), inside lid in white cloth, padded and maker marked "HUGUENIN FRERES & Co Médailleurs LE LOCLE (Suisse)" in French and Serbian, base with a recessed medal bed in black felt, measuring 68.5 mm (w) x 126 mm (h) x 24 mm (d), scuffing and wear evident on the exterior, case near very fine.
Footnote: The Order of The Yugoslav Crown was instituted by King Alexander I of Yugoslavia on April 5, 1930, to commemorate his changing of the name of the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. It was awarded for exceptional service to the Crown, the state and, especially, the unity of Yugoslavia, in five classes. It was discontinued in 1945 upon the founding of the Federal People's Republic.
