Description

In bronze with dark green enamels, unmarked, inclusive of its "Valor", wings and thunderbolts suspension measuring 82 mm (h) x 52.3 mm (w), on an original full-length neck ribbon with a thirteen star horizontal octagonal cravat pad, triple snap closure, light spotting on the reverse, enamels intact, extremely fine. In its hard shelled case of issue, marked "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" on the lid, extremely fine.

Footnote: The Air Force Medal of Honor was instituted in 1965 and is considered the highest military award for valor. Only U.S. service members who distinguish themselves “through conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty” can receive the medal.
