In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
In silver with black, white and green enamels, maker marked ""CALDWELL"" and marked ""SILVER"" on the reverse, measuring 28.5 mm (w) x 43.2 mm (h), original ribbon, spotting on the enamels, otherwise they are intact, extremely fine.
Footnote: The purposes of the Welcome Society of Pennsylvania were stated in its 1906 charter: to perpetuate the memory of those who came to America in the good ship (Welcome) in company with William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, who arrived in October, 1682; to collect and preserve historic data relative to the settlement of the State of Pennsylvania and the founding of Philadelphia; and to bring together in social intercourse and friendly relations the descendants of the aforesaid persons who came to these shores in the ship (Welcome). Though it is not specifically stated in the charter, the Society was founded as nonprofit and educational. Originally, the membership was limited to the descendants (male or female) of those who were passengers on the Welcome. Presently, membership is composed of descendants of those ancestors who traveled with fellow Quakers to America during the course of the year of 1682. This includes twenty-two ships and twenty-three crossings of the Atlantic.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society. His knowledge and passion for history and awards is evident in this meticulously compiled collection that is now available in its entirety for the first time exclusively on eMedals.com.
