This fine quality and wartime cap has a 40 mm wide greenish-khaki cotton band, with the body of the cap fabricated from a khaki cotton, in the traditional design with raised peak. The front is adorned with a 56.5 mm (w) x 58 mm (h) United States Army officer's cap badge in die-stamped gilt metal, affixed to the underside via as screwpost and washer combination attached to a nylon lemon yellow protective pad, the badge featuring the great seal of the United States insignia featuring a bald eagle with its wings outstretched and holding a bundle of 13 arrows in its left talon and an olive branch in its right talon, the eagle clutching a scroll with the Latin motto "E pluribus unum" (Out of Many, One), with a glory of 13 mullets (stars) above. The chocolate brown leather visor has a chocolate brown patent leather strap resting along the top edge, with two length adjustment sliders, held in position via brass buttons on the sides, each of which bears the great seal of the United States. Two peanut brown finished metal grommets placed on both sides for ventilation. The underside of the visor has a raw finish in the leather, the visor itself semi-stiff. The 43 mm wide leather sweatband is fabricated from a pecan brown leather, the sweatband stitched in place throughout and incorporating multiple rows of five holes each for ventilation, incorporating a "7 1/4" size label at the rear, the dome itself lined in a champagne-colored nylon. The cap measures 250 mm in width x 240 mm in length x 100 mm in height and exhibits light wear and soiling on exterior, with only a few imperfections in the fabric, the interior with extensive wear and tearing in multiple locations on the leather sweatband, along with light soiling in the champagne-colored nylon lining.
