Gold Gilt circular medal with the Union Flag in centre with blue, red and white enamel crest on obverse encircled by “society of daughters of colonial wars”. Reverse bearing “308, Harriet Vaughn Rigdon, 1930”. Gold Tudor Rose Suspension (official logo of society). Measuring: 25.56mm (w) x 37.80mm (h) (to top of Tudor Rose Suspension). Weighing in at 12.7 grams, original ribbon.
Footnote: Harriet Louise Vaughn Rigdon was born January 16, 1880 in Chicago Illinois, USA and died in Saguenay-Lac-Saint Jean Region Quebec, Canada on September 5th 1941. She is buried in Falls Cemetery in Wabash County Indiana, USA. She had affiliations with the Mayflower Society, Daughters of the American Colonists, Runnemeade, Huguenot Society,
Daughter of Pilgrims, Daughters of Colonial Wars, 1812 Society, Colonial and Colonial Dames VII Century.
Footnote 2: According to book authors Lee E. Bishop, Jr and J. Robert Elliott II, in their text American Society Medals- An Identification Guide, this society was founded in 1932. All members of this society must have a direct relation to someone who had military or governmental service in the American colonies between May 13, 1607 and April 19, 1775.
