A large black and white photo of J. Edgar Hoover, on cardstock paper from the studio of C. Karsh, Ottawa, signed “To. Fred Agulihan, Jr. Best wishes from your pal J. Edgar Hoover 3.22.51”, measures 222 mm (w) x 290 mm (h), small creases and folds around the corner, reverse presents residue of glue and scrapbook paper, 

Footnote: J. Edgar Hoover was born on January 1, 1895, in Washington, D.C. He attended George Washington University, earning a law degree in 1917, and later studied at Columbia University. Hoover began his career in the Department of Justice in 1917 and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the acting director of the Bureau of Investigation in 1924, which later became the FBI. Over his long career, he built the FBI into a professionalized federal agency and remained a dominant figure in American law enforcement until his death in 1972.
